I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal."

Since no one's here my unpopular opinion is that we've swapped "taboo" for "oversharing" and "boundaries infringement" but it's just semantics. There's "a right time and place" for victims and SA survivors to share their load that oddly never comes. It's Amartia's Law for the modern bourgeoisie.

I've always known the structures around modern activism and advocacy are entirely performative and fragile. You'd be surprised how little people adhere to the modern watered down "left" versus how many claim to. We've had these numbers for ages. They understand. They don't care. They perform.

It's fascinating to me how much discourses around body positivity, gender based violence and racism have regressed in what feels like a few weeks. And from vocal "radical" activists too. Not only in the US. In the World. Were we in a mock social agreement up till now? It has to have been brewing.
