Sometimes, the people you want to believe in are your worst enemies.
Demons Roots. It's a story about dehumanization, the many forms it takes, and fighting back against it. It takes a couple hours to start, but goes *hard* once it does. It does cost money, but you can get it for the low price of free if you look in the right spot, akin to emulated games.

That's the joke, yeah.

A hacked 3DS isn't the best option. Insmouse no Yakata runs really slowly on it, and I couldn't even get Jack Bros to work. Just use a smartphone or laptop.

You can also emulate it for the price of zero dollars. So long as the website is HTTPS (Firefox will warn you and kill downloads if it's not) and it's a direct download, you don't need a VPN or anything that paranoid people tell you.

It doesn't. Some people just can't take a break from politics and decide to make that everyone else's problem.

Improving out of love of the game is a core part of doing it! And yeah, it really seems like people will actively fight you on that if you aren't careful about where you post, since you're enjoying something they can't. And being negative and cruel gets a better Good Person Score (likes).

There's this dude that plays the trumpet everywhere Bolsonaro goes.

Recently he has been seen playing Chopin - Marche Funèbre.

he is a local hero per se.

It's got some issues if you try to play old games (windows 98 era stuff), but it works well if you aren't interested in that.

And honestly, windows can't run 98 stuff, even with compatibility mode. So it's not really a loss.

That isn't the point. The point is that corporations are no longer performing, which is indicative of how bad things are.

Obrigada. 🫀

I see. Thank you very much for all of that, and sorry to Noelle for flooding her notification. >.>
That said, I just got news that this happened. I'll take my chances. A maybe-Bolsonaro future is better than a present-Mussolini US.

The GOP’s “Big Beautiful Bill” Bans Gender-Affirming Care From Medicaid for All Ages
The bill, given a propagandist title by its sponsors, passed the House on May 22.

True, that's undeniably an issue. But Alexandre de Moraes prevented election interference from him last time, yeah? He's proven himself willing to do *something* big. And a large part of the world is sliding into fascism.

...I think a better way to ask is: how big is the threat level, do you feel?
May 22, 2025 at 12:20 PM
I've heard as much, yeah. Everyone mentioned knowing Portuguese is a necessity, and Noelle mentioned Pimsleur (spelling?) on her Tumblr account when I asked there. I've been practicing it where I can.

Yeah, wouldn't surprise me if asylum would be considered acceptable (Bolsonaro notwithstanding) in the near future, given the State of Things in the States. But I'm not expecting that quite yet. Maybe by the end of the year...though I do hope not, given what that would mean for those here.

Thank you very much for your assistance! It's wildly appreciated, given the lack of...well, I suppose the issue is needing *enough* info to assuage fears. Again, thank you.

I see, I see. Thank you for your assistance! And sorry for my initial vagueness.

Oh, sorry. Moving, yeah. And I mean more in regards to medical inadmissibility stuff, since I know that's a bit of a stickler with countries. (Also in regards to mental disabilities, if you have knowledge on that)
Sorry for not being clear right off the bat. >.>

Hi, I know this is a necropost, but are there viable options for staying in Brazil if you're disabled? That's my destination, but I'm uncertain on the extent of what the options are.
