character limits prevent me from delving into the problematic consequences of semi-thinking but high processing machines built with the imperative to maximize profits and eliminate competition but safe to say this is less terminator and more "high velocity bad autocorrect runs the galactic frontier"

But one thing I've nailed down is extrapolating a world where pervasive AI is evolved from people who were unskilled or desperate enough to train them against their own interests. They're everywhere and the fact that they do the dumbest thing semirelated to their core task is a fact of life. Sci-fi!
