Even my wife was impressed/approved, because it freed up so much space in our garage. Plus she got to keep the 2x4s I built my previous setup with for whatever future project she wants to do.

As @boarish.bsky.social asked, did you disrupt Big Sim? I sure hope so! Because $1600+ to buy something like I built is crazy! I just wanted to prove there is a way to get something similar for a fraction of the price. Is it perfect? No. But is the $1600+ one $1400+ better than mine? No fucking way.

Wily Mo might have had the most raw power in the history of MLB. Just absolute moon shots. Like Thames, could do absolutely nothing else, and was probably a worse hitter and player than Thames. But my god, the power.

Not for nothing, but Marcus Thames was A Guy. Career 1.9 WAR. Had great power, but could do absolutely nothing else. Still. What a guy on those 2006 Tigers. Twice bopped 25 or more homers.

We had one like the octagon in this thread, and we fostered a trio of sibling puppies. Woke up one morning and they had somehow pushed it clear across the kitchen. All three still inside, but like they worked in unison to move to another spot.

Those are great from the bit I've tested one, and then all the sites and reviewers agree. But if you see one like on the right, throw it right back in the woods. Not even a shag-bag ball. So bad that even at $1 a ball or whatever they were, not worth it.

The ones before the junk ones were pretty dang solid, and like you, I'm a bit of a ball snob, but I had no problems playing it, particularly when it was a new courses I didn't know and there was a greater chance of rinsing or losing one because I didn't know what was up ahead.

I would just warn you to make sure of what model it is, because the quality from model to model is WILDLY different. The new ones, with the Red Trim on the box and the empty triangle alignment aid, are great. The old boxes with the silver trim and the filled in alignment aid, are a disaster.
