It’s quite a plug for downtown Portland which has been the butt of much ribbing this year (and the year before that, and the year before that, and so on and so on). @thatoregonlife.bsky.social

A couple of days before #CDFriday, but here we go. #KendraSmith 'Five Ways of Disappearing' on #4AD. It's not #Opal, and that's the point.

Every week for past two years on xray.fm, DJ Gilliflower has built worlds from scraps—both sonic and visual. Turtles Have Short Legs isn’t background music; it’s architectural. A séance conducted through transistor radio rather than Ouija board. xray.fm/shows/turtle...

A revelatory performance of solo improvised snare drum (and table) by Ryosuke Kiyasu of Fushitsusha. Made for a delightful evening out in Helsinki before we headed back. Kiitos @renekita.bsky.social and @phinnweb.bsky.social for the heads-up!

Flashback to a year ago when we saw @launau.bsky.social at Kontula Electronic in Helsinki. Something about that gargantuan space filled with light and sound. Mesmerizing.

If our TTRPG Electric Eden erred on the side of detachment in the treatment of folk song and tradtition, Lally MacBeth's The Lost Folk invites us to close that gap. Yet, the canon has always been contested ground, shaped as much by improvisation, chance, and power as by any single hand.
