A fun take on a modem day Superhero world, with strong writing and memorable characters. The core gameplay is very basic but does have its moments of challenge. The story is engaging although some areas like the villain could have done with a bit more attention throughout I feel.

Rain

A very simple puzzle-adventure game that has a creative core concept behind it that blends in well with both the calm and haunting atmosphere the city and music provide. I do wish it evolved more towards the end as it is a bit too simple most of the time and it can overstay its welcome.

Devil May Cry 3

I can definitely see now why so many still regard this as one of the best PS2 games of its time. The action is both chaotic and fluid. Each of the weapons are distinct and flashy and the story and characters aren't half bad. Camera and lock-on were my only real problems.

Vanquish

A very different kind of 3rd person shooter for its time with flashy weapons, set pieces, takedowns and more. The narrative is easily the weakest part as it feels like it flows like a paper airplane in a hurricane.

Road 96

Simple adventure game with an interesting (if not rough) graphical and presentation style. The commentary can be very on the nose and by halfway in you all ready know what each of the supporting cast are all about even if most are fun to be around.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Everything in this fluid and colourful platformer seems to tick just about every box as the first game, from it story, world building, music and rewarding metroidvania style of gameplay but I also can't think of much that greatly propels forward either.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Gonna need 3 posts for this one.

Needless to say the new FF7 has gone all out again to really bring its world to life with incredibly detailed locations and monsters and for a better and worst made sure to leave almost no stone left upturned.

Neon White

Fantastic gameplay that constantly has you not wanting to stop so that you can run, learn and beat the next level. Characters and world comes with a lot of charm and the music keeps your blood pumping fast. Only real issue was for the social bits have a bit more meat to them.

Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island

Although it does fall prey to some of my grievances with the main game, the added depth and complexity given to Jin and what a samurai is capable of doing for the sake of his duty is more than enough reason to forgive most its flaws.

Dredge

While my first impression wasn't much, after giving my boat some much needed speed I found myself much more intrigued. The world comes with many surprises and secrets with my only small grip being some items taking longer to track down than I would have liked.

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla

Although there is quite a bit reused and repurposed here from the main game and I would have liked to seen more Greece content used, this is still has some of the deepest writing the series has had diving into Krato’s past and character, also is FREE.

Animal Well

A game that truly knows how to take something small and simple and yet find multiple ways to expand on it in ways you would never think. The art style is very pleasant for the eyes. Only real complaint is the short playtime and the lack of music used through out.

Life Is Strange: True Colors

A very emotion fuelled journey where the characters and their struggles become more interesting than the games overall mystery. Game can feel a bit cut down (especially with some unresolved stuff) but is still very pretty to look at with some great music toboot.

Final Fantasy XVI

Another that took me longer than expected although for very different reasons. There is a lot great stuff here from the epic as hell Eikon battles to the performances, but unfortunately there is lot that dragged the game down for me, forcing me to take month long brakes.

Baldur's Gate 3

Unsurprisingly this one took a while to beat but by god was it satisfying even when I started over. There is so much great detail put into every location, character and quest that I am still shocked at how this game can hold together even with all the updates its had up till now.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

I don't know whats more amazing, that I somehow managed to complete this game or that it's now my favourite games from FromSoft. Yes its hard and can take a bit to get use to the core mechanics but so much works here for me compared to their other games I've played.

AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative

New mystery is good but has issues retaining engagement throughout. Likeable cast and big twist towards the end makes up for it but little is improved upon from last time.

Prince of Persa: The Lost Crown – Mask of Darkness

New mechanics to test your quick thinking along with a interesting villain (with a killer design) who sadly is given little pay off at the end.

(Present time)

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Really fun and engaging metroidvania with some truly imaginative platforming that will constantly keep challenging you.

Story is a bit all over the place and the VA, score and sound effects feel very subpar, compared to others of its ilk.

Well only took me 7 months but I finally made time to play and complete a new game.

Astro Bot

There's not much to say about this game that hasn't already been said but I'll give it a shot. This game is like a comforting hug from a someone you know you can rely on, nuff said.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

Like the first game, absolutely gorgeous environments though thankfully we get to see a more brighter side to the world this time. Gameplay adds some new items though could used a bit more overall. Amazing performances and really dug the cast.

Darksiders (remastered)

Interesting world and lore (if a bit confusing at times). Does a good imitation of a God of War, not so much Zelda. Fun bit of voice work from the actors.

Gravity Rush (Remastered)

Most recent video goes into more detail.

Absolutely love the art style, music, characters and presentation. Story is good as well though a lot is left unanswered for the next game. Combat sadly holds it back a lot of the time.

Rollerdrome

Fun mix of sports and action. Art style is unique and world has neat hints to politics of its world (wish there was more). Soundtrack is a jam and gameplay is right amount of being simple but yet still skilful.
