Yes, however, the info is wrong on Portland maps so they have us at fewer bedrooms (went from 2 to 4 bed). All permitting was done as required

Per an inflation calculator 2300 in 1998 is now 4600

My property taxes in pdx have gone up from 2300 in 1998 to 9k this year. Seems beyond inflation? Small NE bungalow

Leftism wasn't really a thing in the 80s and 90s as the USSR and China regimes were collapsing btw. Feminism definitely had a strong "break the glass ceiling mentality" those decades

hmmm not sure about that. for example betty friedan strongly urged women to get out of the house and have pursue a career

They do though. I've known a couple from childhood who had money in young adulthood and lost it all by first becoming addicted to a substance and then losing job, family and housing.

Unsheltered homelessness is often a behavioral health problem.

Ah Portlander, infamous home of so many corporations. (???)

It is about sheltering people who are unsheltered. We should model ourselves after right to shelter cities.
December 2, 2025 at 2:18 AM
I don't know why anyone would be surprised by this? I've lived here since the 70s and starting in 2020 I could see this coming as the city was in tatters. Urbanists seem a little naive here with cause and effect tbh,but if this is pointed out you get a SM block. it should be thoroughly discussed imo

Did the very cool Pink Martini band leader give you his thoughts on your brand of politics

Well no you don't if you don't know where the money has gone, a good amount spent to rehouse homeless.

You have no idea what you are talking about, do you.

Few supports? The metro area spending on homelessness was $724m in 2024. In one year, almost $1b
November 11, 2025 at 5:47 AM
Nope. The city is over the small group of too online radical activists' performative stonewalling. Much conversation about this off of bluesky. Let the mayor do what he was elected to do. Stop using the unsheltered and show some real empathy.

People should be sheltered !
November 10, 2025 at 3:11 AM
got a much bigger chunk of votes. Anyhow if people don't like the mayors plan and think camping is cool, they should advocate for a plan like an official campground with services.

If they have been asked to take the offered shelter they are in violation of city ordinance. Do DSA folks think their opinions represent the majority of Portlanders'? These councilors got at best 11% of their district votes. They seem to represent the DSA not their constituents, whereas the mayor
