Just the first of many hidden embroidery details on Hiei that no one will actually see, but it makes me super happy. Both Hiei and Yukina will have little nods to each other, and I am really happy about it.

I am not only working on my own AMKE cosplays (mostly Hiei right now for OBVIOUS REASONS), but I also have a few things that I am making for MoonlightMeika for Yukina. Mostly support items for the kimono. Here are some images of the obi jime.

Making some obi makura for AMKE. Few will recognize one of the materials used - specifically the batting which is actually the same (though in a thinner layer) as I used for the fins on my Nausicaä mask, meaning it's actually meant to be a seat cushion. Cosplay resourcefulness at its finest.

Went to the art crawl at a local garden center today with @elsasaurus.bsky.social and we got food from their café. Had a great time hanging out with my friend, looking at art, and getting some new plants.

Look at that mitered corner. I tend to stitch them down with hand stitches while hand finishing my bias tape finishing. Just some navy linen and black cotton flannel to finish the final contructional pieces of Hiei's under tunic.

I de-molded some resin that I poured last week (gave extra set time because of the MN cold plus storing in basement.) It's colored with iridescent Micah powder. Excited to wear Super Mercury at AMKE in about a month.

Look, I am being good as I cut bias tape and making as I go. Do I hate myself in this? Yes. But hopefully I will not need to make any more after this (for this project). Give me piping any day.

Some of you got previews of this, and this still will need an other cleaner version before I finalize the design for print. Started out as something for my build books, but very likely will turn into a sticker.

I figured out how I am going to do the flower kanzashi for Onigashima Nami. Oh, this is going to be fun. Pictured are both the finalized process, and one of the "it could work but this one thing bugs me" test. Excited to continue this build.

I typically keep my hair short, but still use a lot of Bobby pins typically when putting wigs on. Here is an example from one of the no-undercut, long (for me) times and how many Bobby pins were on my head with braid prep method.

Whip stitching the finishing on the shoulder seams while watching Yu Yu Hakusho tonight. Do I still need to get the side seams beyond basting stitching? Yes. But this way I can add the hidden detail that no one will see but will make me happy sooner to my Hiei cosplay.

Prepping for the week ahead by sorting through some of my fabric stash to organize into upcoming builds. Here's a look at the fabrics I plan to use for Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho. Which is planned for AMKE in March.
