My view. Back in the early days, politicians were sold that followers would lead to votes. I'm not sure that that has ever been true. This is why their reluctance to leave.

Umm, the irish citizens staying on that site are not the type to vote for Social Democrats. He would not be abandoning his constituents. He's abandoning those on the far right, who insist on committing violence.
