A lot of justified accountability that should have happened after his first term did not. He got away with too much. I hope they’re able to do it this time

Founding fathers would be appalled by him and by the state of America that got him elected

I haven’t heard this about him, what is the source?

The face of neoliberal oligarchic Democratic establishment, trapped in a Reagonomics mindset, girlbossing her way to a fortune through insider trading and blocking any real progress from happening

I also saw the rerelease this weekend. It remains top tier shit. The freaky Godzilla crawling onto land for the first time is my favorite

Do not call this a flex! It is an overreach! Democracy dies in the darkness created by publications acquiescing to authoritarian messaging.

Is this a new episode?

“Dick durbin’” sounds like slang for impotence.

There has to be a better way

I agree about JK Rowling. But I also think in the case of someone like Gaiman for instance, it’s possible that what he’s done goes against his own beliefs. If he can see how he’s hurt people and learn from his mistakes, is he still a monster? Was he ever? Should the morality of his work be negated?

Maybe even 70s…? If only there was some way to find this information and be sure. Unfortunately we’ll never know.

….

I need to log off I’m getting weirdly snarky toward myself at 3am.

Also from the 80s

But don’t people often act in ways that are contrary to their own views, because they don’t understand how their actions will be interpreted? I think the concept of media literacy is based on an assumed cultural conception that isn’t shared by everyone, just like our morality isn’t universal

But despite being very obviously satire (to me), a lot of people still didn’t see that intent and thought Starship Troopers was earnest. No matter an artist’s intent, the interpretation is up to the viewer. And people sometimes act in ways that don’t reflect their beliefs.

I agree! But I just don’t want everyone to say “it’s hopeless” and then just not even vocalize their anger with these decisions. Whether MAGAworld loves it or not, if average people who don’t want fascism don’t see any resistance from the opposition, they won’t resist either
February 8, 2025 at 6:05 PM
This is a great question and I hope there’s an answer! I think the point still stands that there needs to be vocal resistance to every fascist move, whether it’s just to slow things down or to actually stop them, or even to just make a show of saying “this is wrong!”

Why tf is that burrito bowl $20, what did he add to it

But those actually do sound like good causes. If legislation comes through that actually does good things for people, we should welcome it regardless of the source, right? Otherwise this is just a popularity contest with no actual goals.
