Just a book nerd and her gang of rescue ponies
Rose & Daff had their dentals today. Also got Rosie’s vaccines done, and microchipped her because IT READS HER TEMPERATURE HOW COOL. Last photo is Rose opting to use the special-occasions-only lick as a head rest post sedation

Sometimes I forget how small she is 😂

Nova (lighter bay) let me pick out & trim her fronts yesterday. She’s a reserved gal still, but engaging more every day. Stamps her feet if she thinks I’m too slow refilling the hay nets. Somehow even after all the rescues I’ve worked with through this stuff, their resilience always surprises me 💕

Sammie & mama Bonnie. The new hay boxes for the rescue crew are excellent :3

Enjoying the Hill Charger series currently … fiction, ‘She Who Rides Horses’ (Barnes) but with some magic elements mixed in. Just finished book 2, onto book 3. Here’s how they characterise one of the goats, who is a recurring character throughout the series :3

Had to make a start on the wee cat soon as she was within reach - still a few shades of green to work through in the blank spaces 🥲 but it’s going to be so pretty :3

Training with Koa (ribby fellow with the fairy knots) feels a little slow right now. Early days. He expects human touch to hurt. Violet (white blaze) was similar at first. She now demands scratches & finds them reinforcing enough for formal training sessions. I hope we can convince Koa someday too ❤️

Little One continues to heal - count on this dog to find a stick to impale herself on whilst frolicking in the paddocks. She got a bubble wrap feeling under her skin which seems to be a secondary bacterial infection but a change up of meds has helped significantly. Fingers crossed that continues 🤞

New project has 300 different shades of green & im starting to question the wisdom in my usual approach of starting at the top of the piece & working my way down… alas, the tortoiseshell cats & nasturtiums may be a few weeks out at this rate

She’s finished … just need to finish stitching her together, then onto the next project … and yes, we are going to ignore where we miscounted- it was too much trouble to frog & fix 🙈

Trying to get back into cross stitch, so started with a simple kit, almost done… Now gotten wind of a 31 page pattern that I’m rather eager to try do, who knows if we stick with it this time 🙈
