The project was also influenced by my own traumatic injury. I suffered a skull fracture during the ice storm of 2024. I slipped on ice on concrete steps and hit the back of my head so hard that I actually lost my memory for 10 hours. I think Ornaments explores fears of losing all that you love.

2022 Skinamarink found footage homemade horror influenced my own project Ornaments where I wanted to create an atmosphere of a childhood nightmare. I used footage from my own childhood VHS memories to turn childhood innocence into a scary realization that the past is only an ornament.

I created this account with the horror slumber party moniker which is used to showboat my VHS tapes but I think this will become sort of just a landing page for all things in that horror realm. I want to create horror movies in particular that focus around queer identities and themes.

I think the original obsession with the idea of Ornaments came from a year or so ago hanging ornaments on the tree. Captivated with holding objects that have traveled through time. Relics that hold so much meaning. #filmmaking #shortfilms #queerfilms
