South East England. Into genre evolution, H.G. Wells to H.G. Lewis, Hammer to Chainsaw. Giallo and Euro horror are my happy place. Incurable nostalgia junkie. 🇬🇧🏳️‍🌈
I'm loving the LV 426 Dark and Stormy Morning analogy, very evocative. And good morning to you, sir! 🫡

It's stunning. Very Italian (not tailored for or 'Americanized' by the US) it's set in rural Italy, incredibly dark and utterly unforgettable.

Thanks, nice find...

I don't know much about it, I wasn't able to find the artist or time frame when it was produced. Any info as always welcome.

Great isn't it, fantastic artwork.

Seems like golf and jazz are best appreciated with a little maturity. Hopefully the same can be said for having kids! 😁

It's grown on me. I wasn't a fan as a younger man but now I love it, mainly through watching 60s/70s European horror films!

I was reading about him after rewatching this last night, a fascinating man. Originally a jazz musician before turning to film, he'll be 88 this year and still going strong.

It's excellent. Make sure you watch the original language version, it's very Italian, very dark and very good. I highly recommend a nudge to the top of that watchlist...

I love what I've seen of his work, but I really do need to see more. Those that I have seen I've ended up buying on Blu Ray, terrific films and a great director.

There is, but you still come away feeling you've seen something remarkably original.
January 20, 2026 at 2:32 PM
No spoilers, but it really is. It utterly blew me away.

Absolutely love Kill List, terrific film.

It's fantastic isn't it. The original 'egg' poster is iconic and I was going to go with it, but this just screams to be seen more!
January 20, 2026 at 1:17 PM
Sadly not. I somehow don't think they'd have put my quote on the cover... 😁

Same here, I recall first seeing it at the cinema when it was released. The audience reaction to the chest bursting scene was fantastic 😱
January 20, 2026 at 12:08 PM
Surprisingly there's loads, it quite a decent collectors edition. I'm not alone in having exquisite taste, obviously...

Agreed, Fincher's original vision is the perfect antidote to the dazzling action of Cameron's superb second act. The theatrical release works to an extent, but you can literally feel the cuts.

Very true 🥚😱

Hard to say, it's always subjective, but there are those who could justifiably claim that taking in the poster for 80 minutes is preferable to sitting through the film. I, on the other hand, own the Blu Ray. Naturally.
January 20, 2026 at 11:51 AM
Indeed, that's the great John Hurt squeezing in bottom right. And to be fair more of them made it onto this than they did the star-free original...
January 20, 2026 at 11:48 AM
Yep, roll up, roll up! Not quite the greatest show on Earth though...
January 20, 2026 at 11:46 AM
I completely agree. There are few new stories to tell, but a great craftsperson can make the most usual seem fresh and innovative. And there were many on board here. Rarely has a man in a rubber monster suit chasing people in the dark seemed so original.

I thought the poster quite excellent too. You sum the film up perfectly, it's a superbly composed telling of a classic story, with stunningly designed new trimmings. As a trilogy the first three work well I think, I've always been a fan of Fincher's flawed but fascinating third.
