While it is similar to Blood Feast, Mardi Gras Massacre thrives thanks to its setting. The bizarre murderer portrayed by Dawson, combined with visceral gore and vibrant sleaze, create eerie authenticity. Once banned as a "video nasty," it endures as flawed yet captivating grindhouse history.

Certainly, an overlooked horror film. I suppose you could say not much happens, but the gradual disintegration of domestic tranquility thanks to the wonderful Marilyn Adams makes this one worth the price of admission alone. Her portrayal of Milly is sublimely vulgar yet strangely sincere.

Love the Euro-slasher leanings all set in a water park accompanied by slick visuals, awkward line delivery, and a killer waterslide moment. Early McAvoy/Fisher add surprise star power. Not essential, but a must for international slasher fans.

$LA$HER$ demonstrates remarkable creativity, even though it is so similar to films like The Running Man and Battle Royale. The director makes the most of limited resources, and the faux-live broadcast style brings authenticity, while the satire of reality TV enhances the film's ambitious nature.
