Lust is exactly as he remembers it. The decor may have evolved, but the effect is the same. Flashy. Over the top. Enticing. Lust may not be his sin, but Lucifer’s no stranger. He portals directly to the top floor of Ozzie’s building, just outside the penthouse doors. It’s been a couple of centuries since he’s made rounds in the other rings, and he’s not looking to be harassed by hellborn paparazzi today. Lucifer straightens the brim of his hat and takes a deep breath before rapping his knuckles against the door and standing back. “I’ll get it!” A voice calls out almost immediately, high-pitched and croaky. Definitely not Ozzie. Maybe Fuzzy? Fizzy? Lucifer leans into his cane and plasters on a winning smile as the door swings open to reveal an imp. It’s common for imps to work in the homes of Sins and Goetia as butlers, cleaners, and even chefs. So he almost considers that’s who he’s seeing, some kind of hired help, except there’s the outfit. They’re wearing bright purple shorts covered in fat cartoon horses and a cut-off shirt with the words “I’m Horny and Want Attention” printed across the front. To top it all off, they have a pink and purple jester cap covering their horns, with little bells at the ends. The imp is frozen to the spot and just staring. “Hello,” Lucifer says slowly when it becomes clear the poor thing isn’t going to recover any time soon. “I’m Lu—” “Oh, I know who you are, Sire,” they say with a crazed smile, eye twitching minutely. “Excuse me for just one moment.” The door slams shut in his face, and the next thing he hears is that same croaky voice, a tinge of panic bleeding through. “Why is the King of Hell at our door?” Lucifer looks up and down the hall, trying to figure out if he somehow landed on the wrong floor. Admittedly, it’s been a while since he’s been to Lust, but surely Ozzie would have told him if he’d moved . He expands his grace, an invisible swell of power that spills from his being, stretching out into the space around him, searching. He’s definitely on the top floor. The brush of Ozzie’s grace against his own is warm and familiar in a way that makes his chest ache . Lucifer’s awareness snaps back to his body and he shakes himself off. This is Ozzie’s penthouse, which begs the question, why the fuck did that imp think this was their door.

"Oh! Just the guy I wanted to see," Lucifer says, plastering on a smile before his voice drops lower. "We need to talk." Static builds around them, and Alastor's smile looks strained, as if he's grinding his teeth together. "Do we now?" "Yes. We do." Alastor's gaze flits down the hall momentarily before he pushes Lucifer back into the elevator with a hand on his chest. A shadowy tendril forces the doors to close with a press of a button on the terminal, and then Alastor turns to him. Somehow, the bastard manages to look both bored and angry simultaneously. It's impressive, really. "Talk." "Right, uhh," Lucifer fumbles. Shit. What was he going to say to the guy? I'm sorry if my blood made you super horny and you were uncomfortable with it? But if you weren't, I'd be down for a repeat, maybe with less blood? "Ever the wordsmith." Alastor rolls his eyes, stepping back to lean against the elevator wall. "Anything else?" "Fuck you." "That would be our issue, wouldn't it," Alastor growls. Okay, yeah, should have seen that coming. "Listen, Alast—" "Shut up." The words are sharp, but when Lucifer looks up at him, Alastor's no longer glaring. He's staring off to the side, and the sharp taste of shame fills the space between them again. "What happened this morning was inexcusable." After everything Alastor has said to Lucifer over the past month, you'd think he'd be more callused to the Sinner's remarks, but he's not. The words cut straight through to the little bit of pride he holds on to.

“I’m already dead.” “Huh.” Lucifer plucks the cigarette from his fingers and brings it to his own lips. Gold eyes stay trained on his as Lucifer hallows his cheeks, greedily inhaling. It’s such a contradiction; even after eons in Hell, Lucifer looks so pure. Porcelain skin and eager eyes. There’s something absolutely sinful in the way he all but moans on the exhale, eyes fluttering closed. Surely, Lucifer knows what he’s doing. “Is there something you wanted, Your Majesty?” Lucifer rolls his eyes and shifts to his knees, pressing into Alastor’s space further. He moves slowly like he’s waiting for Alastor to stop him. A blackened hand comes up to grab the edge of the window frame beside Alastor’s head, caging him in. “Are we still doing all that?” He looks down at Alastor, licking his lips before placing the cigarette against them again. Alastor’s breath catches as he watches the handroll burns down with Lucifer’s inhale. He knows they’ve been dancing around something but this is new. It isn’t the first night Lucifer has shown up at his radio tower, whether to bitch about something he said on a broadcast, or just because he was bored. Lust is exactly as he remembers it. Each time the tip digs into one of the fresh wounds he feels Lucifer twitch, and when he shifts his grip, biting down again just to the side of the first, Lucifer actually whines. A moment later he feels Lucifer lean into his side, forehead coming to rest against Alastor’s bare shoulder, his free hand roughly gripping the back of his neck. “Alastor.” Lucifer pants against his skin, breathless. Alastor pauses, but he doesn’t pull away. His breath ghosts against the wound as he speaks. “Yes?” He drags his tongue up Lucifer’s arm, from wrist to the crook of his elbow, cleaning the sluggishly bleeding puncture marks. The shiver it sends through Lucifer has him grinning against his skin. “Is there a problem, Your Majesty?” The high is greater than anything he’s ever felt. Everything feels exquisite, unmatched. The fact that it’s Lucifer, The King of Hell, shuddering against his side is inconsequential if it means he can continue to enjoy this delicacy. He pointedly ignores the stirring in his groin. Unimportant. Lucifer laughs under his breath and shakes his head against Alastor’s shoulder. “Nope, no. I’m good if you are, big guy.”

Lucifer leans into the hand on Alastor's chest, pressing as if trying to slip through the gore to slot himself between his ribs. There's a sharp inhale followed by a choked-off cry as Lucifer finds his soul again. It's faster this time; the shadow that had been hiding it before finally gone. "Got ya," Lucifer murmurs. He closes his eyes again and carefully lets power creep from his fingertips, the glowing light surrounding them both. Alastor shakes beneath him, the room steadily filling with static. Behind his eyes, Lucifer can see Alastor's soul laid out before him. It's an undulating mass, black as shadows, tied to Alastor but resting beyond this dimension. It's tattered and cracked in countless places, and there's a foreign glow emanating from within. Lucifer feels more than he sees, his own power as it moves closer, like a hand reaching for a drowning man. The moment he makes contact, there's a cry from beneath him, and a hand wraps tightly around his wrist. Lucifer pauses, expecting Alastor to start fighting back, but he just holds his hand there like an anchor. "Luce—" Alastor whines. Lucifer squeezes his eyes shut. He can't lose focus again. His free hand finds the back of Alastor's good shoulder and grips him there. His fingers curl where they lie against Alastor's chest, and his energy begins to prod at the edges of his soul, looking for the easiest opening. "I know," Lucifer manages. He's basically laid across Alastor's chest now. One arm looped behind Alastor's good shoulder, the other hand nearly wrist-deep in the bloody gash. His head dips down as he searches, forehead resting against soft, barely there fur. It soothes the growing heat running across Lucifer's skin. "You're doing so good. Almost there." Alastor whines, a soft, sad sound. It's minutes of this before Lucifer finds it: A crack so deep that he can see the edges of Adam's power, where it's taken hold and tried to make a home for itself. Lucifer takes a deep breath and lets his power slip back momentarily. Not so much that he loses his hold, but enough that Alastor can breathe properly. There's a sigh of relief when he sits up, followed by shaking breaths. The hand on his wrists loosens, and when Lucifer opens his eyes, Alastor looks up at him hopefully. Lucifer just shakes his head. "I found it. This next part is going to hurt. A lot. I need you not to fight it." "You say that like this hasn't already been excruciating." Whatever venom was supposed to be behind those words is lost. Instead, it's resigned and aching. "I know," Lucifer nods. "It's going to get worse before it gets better. Are you ready?" Alastor takes a shaking breath, wipes away the blood and gore dripping from the corner of his mouth, and nods fervently.

Even when he does manage to slip away—holed up in his workshop, or curled into one of the armchairs on the third-floor library with a sketchbook—something else wears at Lucifer’s already fraying sanity. Something inside the hotel won’t stop ringing .
