So exciting to watch knowing the #FireSat proto satellite was on board!

One of the entomologists who was fired and one of the dog trainers who helps train dogs, among other things, to keep insect pests out of the country. #entomology Worth a listen! 🧪

A military vet and a scientist were securing America's food system. Trump fired them
More than 10,000 federal employees who had yet to complete their probationary periods have been fired by the Trump administration, including those who work to protect American agriculture.

I am in the United Club lounge and there is a robot scooting around for you to put your dishes in. It's silent, but lit up enough that you notice it when you need it. Kinda cool.

I like the drips made with black powder and clear bullseye glass.

For Maths fans, 2025 is a square.
45² = 45 x 45 = 2025
Also,
9² x 5² = 2025
40² + 20² + 5² = 2025
My favourite?
1³+2³+3³+4³+5³+6³+7³+8³+9³ = 2025

Our paper shows that you can predict and avoid contrails in real-life, with statistically significant results: www.nature.com/articles/s44...
Feasibility test of per-flight contrail avoidance in commercial aviation - Communications Engineering
Vapour trails (contrails) from aircraft make a substantial contribution to aviation’s climate impact. Here we execute a per-flight contrail avoidance feasibility test through altitude adjustments base...

Here's a sparkly line tavnit nerot, candle tray, for catching drips from the candles from a menorah, or hannukiah. #glassart

Amazing creative work!
My teammates at Google finally published (in Nature!) one of my favorite projects: using millions of cellphones to map the ionosphere and improve GPS location accuracy: research.google/blog/mapping...

Close up with detail on one of the soap dishes. I really think it's better as a tea bag depot, or a TBD.

I'm happy with how the bowl turned out. It uses an open bottom mold so it sits flat. #bonnydoonfusedglasstools

All three pieces slumped nicely into their forms.

Running one soap dish and two other items through on a basic #slump, this is the one I call the "Lucie Slump." That flower should use a deeper slump, but to save kiln runs, I'll just run it in parallel with the soap dishes twice.

The soap dishes came through the contour fuse nicely - keeping enough definition to raise the soap while being smooth enough to clean easily.

The opaline dots came out marvelously. They look like little pearls.

Setting these two up for a #contourfuse - while intended to be soap dishes, I am thinking they might work better as tea bag depots.

The candle holder in glass stuck nicely, but it looks really rough. I tested it with a candle, and it did not break the glass. I think I'll pause on making a complete menorah and wait until I get the inspiration on how to use this earthy look.

The copper sulfur reactions worked as I hoped. Next step is to slump into a bowl.

This morning's kiln run will be a #deepfullfuse to make opaline #bullseyeglass dots, test melting a candle holder into turquoise transparent, and to set thin vitrigraph black and french vanilla stringers on a robins egg blue circle for a future bowl. Timed to use as much #solarpower as possible.
