"More alarmingly, the company agreed to never-before-seen forms of government control over newsroom decisions and editorial judgment-actions that violate both the First Amendment and the law. A government-sanctioned 'truth arbiter' will soon arrive at CBS. That should alarm anyone who values the core democratic principle of a free and independent press. The abrupt halt has stranded about 1,000 samples of gonorrhea and other sexually transmitted pathogens that had not yet been processed, and perhaps dozens more headed to the agency. There are as many as 30 freezers full of samples that now have no custodians, said one senior C.D.C. official who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation. "We were just really shut down midair, like there was no warning," the official said. "It was just completely unplanned and chaotic."

"If you're going to negotiate, you're not going to be honest with the negotiations, there is no negotiation," she said, later adding, "I am not going to destroy democracy by allowing female members to vote when recovering from birth." Luna said leaders are also threatening members who are backing her, telling them their bills will not come to the floor and that the party won't be "helping with fundraising." She said she was also offered committee assignments she had previously been denied as an enticement to end her proxy-voting push.

I love to lavish upon femmes an attention that is an entirely different thing than intention, though I also love to offer both and see what happens, which is how I met my wife, but that's another story. I love to watch them preen under it and unfurl their femme charms for me. They honor me so sweetly with their trust, and I try to honor them, each and all, as best I can.
