The hint system was great, though I admit I was an option somewhere to turn it off, because I kept using it as a crutch on reflex when I really WANTED to use my own brain. Skill issue I know!

Shameless self-plug, but I think my own work fits into this. Magic is used for things as mundane as air conditioning, but it sort of lies above a layer of Lovecraftian unknown-ness no one really acknowledges, and the characters are, for the most part, ordinary people

if you're familiar with the youtube channel boyboy, Aleksa from there had ovarian torsion when he was a kid! his parents didn't even tell him he was intersex until he was an adult!
