That said, I’m sure the administrations reasons behind said changes aren’t great and I don’t think greater access and utility is one of them.

Honestly, I’m ok with parks charging more to foreign tourists. These spaces are traditionally over crowded and we should make it easier for Americans to experience our parks. I’ve paid similar high fees any time I’ve traveled abroad.

Honestly I’m ok with foreign tourists paying extra to visit national parks. I’ve encountered similar while visiting other countries. Progressive tax on the wealthy. Visiting parks during peak season is a circus and we should prioritize americans using our national lands.

Most of it seems like a bad faith gotcha by centrists who are looking to distract from how they’ve enabled americas political drift to the right.

Had my in-laws crash out about stuff like this a few years back. There’s this expectation that “I get to have fun” as a grandparent and it means that anything goes. It’s a really using mentality that many boomers seem to have.

AI’s sycophantic tendencies are one of its most damaging characteristics. I’ve had conversations with coworkers denying objective realities because AI told them that a situation wasn’t that bad and actually it was good and they did great and they’re actually really smart and good at what they do.

Curious if you’ve experienced this but as someone who works in games (but not on them, marketing) I’ve found the industry attracts better coworkers. Compared to other entertainment industries far fewer egos and more celebration of artists and weirdos. Got its own set of issues of course.

Doesn’t matter because in the end, she lost. Gotta build a coalition to win elections and she chose to go right rather than left. 2025 has shown that trying to bring in red voters doesn’t work as well as energizing the young progressive left. Dems keep arguing that the voters should have changed.

Plenty of strong women of color out there willing to stand their ground on a progressive platform. I (and I believe most of America) would make any them my president any day of the week. Unfortunately, Dems are scared of such a person.

And that’s why Dems fear the left more than the right. They are held to a standard and expected to act on principles in the best interests of their constituents. Gaza wasn’t the only issue on the ballot but being ok with genocide is a damning position if you claim to be a left wing candidate.

It’d be one thing if he gave any ground but he said from day one he’d work with Trump on affordability while calling him a fascist. He did just that so I’m happy.
