Late last week a community org emailed me and my neighbors in Hillsborough to inform us that we are living near a former dump turned park that is leaching unsafe levels of benzene, vinyl chloride, arsenic, and other heavy metals into our groundwater, soil, and air. I wish local news would cover it!

NC’s House Majority Leader has set his sights on UNC’s LGBT Center’s measly $200k in state funding… despite the fact that UNC’s new conservative incubator “School of Civic Life and Leadership” has burned up $2 million plus of taxpayer dollars this year. Appeals to “viewpoint diversity” are a joke.

My parents joined me (and @graigmeyer.bsky.social and David Price) for No Kings In downtown Hillsborough. By far the largest crowds I’ve ever seen for any event in our town of 10k, notwithstanding the Christmas parade.
