Brexit and Trump.
The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) has warned Brexit that Brexit growth Brexit will Brexit be Brexit downgraded Brexit “every year for the rest of the Parliament”

Putin will not agree any of these proposals. Defeat on the battlefield remains the only way this war ends. IMO.

Wouldn't people jump on a train and go to London, or the beach for the day, and create more overcrowding issues ?

Most people are involuntarily effected by pressures in their lives and they look at Trump and say: he can't be guilty of any Epstein related wrongdoing because the House and the Senate have just voted to release the files and he's laughing and joking with Ronaldo like he couldn't care less.
November 22, 2025 at 1:53 PM
There has to be stuff in the Epstein files that would be devastating to his position as president, yet he can carry on as normal acting like he hasn't a care in the world, playing golf, etc. I think it's that ability to act like he has no pressure on him, that throws people.

...nice, when in company with others, and then start talking to her again as if the character changes that she had just witnessed hadn't happened.
He has a unique ability to compartmentalise and act as if nothing is bothering him. I think this is his secret weapon that gets people believing him.

In the 90s a British TV presenter called Selina Scott interviewed Trump and she talked about her time with him around the beginning of his first term. She said she felt very uneasy with his ability to seamlessly switch from being nice to being nasty, funny, critical, confrontational, and back to...

I agree that his constant contradictions make it easier for those who have been under his spell, to start seeing what a fraud he actually is.
It's remarkable how some people have been able to see through Trump right from the start, and other people just couldn't.

… proved too difficult to accommodate on mainstream television and ultimately her show was canceled. A balance needs to be struck between what needs to be said and what will be too destabilizing.
Choose your battles is what they say isn’t it.

Pelosi was exceptional, ripping up his SOTU speech took real guts, and demonstrated just how authentic she was. But being a politician seems like a very difficult profession to be successful at. I liked listening to @tiffanydcross.bsky.social for her unfiltered speech, but what she had to say…

You may well turn out to be right. My instincts are that he is a good egg and I like to cling on to anything positive when it emerges. No, more than that… I think he could be a force for change. He turned Trump upside down today on his home turf… that’s not nothing.
November 22, 2025 at 2:09 AM
… I think Trump feels his inauthenticity will be exposed by the real thing that Mamdani possesses.
November 22, 2025 at 1:50 AM
I think it was Mamdani who requested the meeting and in so doing, demonstrated to Trump that he has no fear of entering the lion’s den. I think Mamdani is more driven than Trump, and I do believe his drive is authentic. In fact I think it’s his authenticity that has Trump beat…

With Zelenskyy, don’t you think it was an unfair attack by a dozen or so men on one man. Even then, it wasn’t Trump who took the lead… two or three in the room rounded on Zelenskyy before Trump chipped in with his *you don’t have the cards* line.

Trump’s always eager and willing to punch down.
November 22, 2025 at 1:24 AM
I’m with you in not trusting Trump, at all, on anything. But Trump today had 2 choices. Continue the macho threats he levied at Mamdani pre election or, change his tune. He chose to change his tune, and that, to me, is telling. I think Trump knows Mamdani would prevail if he tried to take him on.
November 22, 2025 at 1:24 AM
I haven’t watched any of their interactions today, but Trump being receptive and cordial doesn’t surprise me… because I think Trump knows he can’t go toe to toe with Mamdani. I think Mamdani got under his skin during his mayoral victory speech, when he said “…Trump… turn the volume up“.

The daft bastard started off saying Covid was no big deal and shook hands with patients in hospital. That stupidity resulted in him contracting the virus and when he eventually recovered, he sent staff to the local Co-op to get drinks and nibbles for the evening’s shindig. #PoorJudgement

He’s done as much damage to the UK as Trump has done to the USA. Maybe more, in my opinion.
Before we had that referendum, the economy was on the up again after the 2008 financial crisis, and Cameron was pushing for GP appointments to be available 7 days a week.

And all with the backdrop of partying.

But doesn’t the DOJ have to hand over everything to the Oversight Committee, in its entirety… regardless of any investigation ?

I wonder where Hope Hicks is these days.
