I may be old and forgetful, but at least I’m not old and forgetful
if I react with exasperation to a spam caller, I’m not doing so in a professional capacity, and certainly not while collecting a publicly-funded salary and benefits. I deal with some pretty hostile phone calls in my job, and if I did something so abysmally stupid and offensive I‘d be out of a job.

I’d buy that T-shirt.

Oh Lord, how awful! As much as we miss bike commuting, my husband and I are both relieved we don’t have to deal with level of danger any more (he once got sideswiped by a speeding cop - no siren or any other warning). Hope you and other cyclists are safe out there.🙏🏻

No longer on my bike daily now that I’ve moved to the sticks, but in 25 years as a city commuter, my best ride was a crosstrek with a pannier rack - sturdy, but nimble enough to get me out of the way of the lifted F350s that infest Alberta streets. I did have to be careful around grates.

My niece’s in-laws are flying in from the antipodes next month to experience a Canadian Christmas. While they’re really looking forward to their first snow, I don’t think they’re prepared for their eyelashes freezing together. ❄️

Hold very tight, please (Ding! Ding!)

As long as they’re delicate and crispy; Mom used to say that thick, stodgy sugar cookies were an abomination unto the Lord. And she was a Sunday School superintendent, so she’d definitely know ;-).

My mom used to call it Rotten Banana Cake because it used up the mushy bananas; she’d add either coffee icing or broiled coconut-pecan topping and it lasted about an hour after my brothers and I descended on the kitchen.

(Note to self: check for discount banana bags at grocery store his morning.)

Thank you so much🙂

They fill your heart, and then they break it by leaving too soon (it’s always too soon). I’m so sorry💔

We need a Jason-hater at the CPC to start handing out Best Summer Ever t-shirts, just as a reminder that FlopSweat Kennedy will happily let people die to boost his personal popularity. Oh, and maybe one with a photo of him standing in line for hours to see QEII lying in state while AB was in crisis.

My husband is originally from that area as well, and experienced some bad lake-effect storms, which means he can always one-up me because we rarely get anything that epic in Alberta🙂.

Who gets rather wobbly when she spins (or is that just me?😉).

This is amazing - I can’t imagine a better grad gift

We’re supposed to reach +11C on Monday, so we’re enjoying it while we can. Like my friend who emigrated from Dorset, I won’t be feeling quite so enthusiastic about snow later in the winter; I buy a pot of spring bulbs for her February birthday because she always had daffodils in her garden by then.

I hope the staff at Stornoway make sure to count the silverware when he and the missus are finally forced to start packing.

Definitely - the next leader will not be any better, unless, as is likely, they are a better liar.
