I am the US CPA who does US tax returns for Americans in Japan, based in Narita when I am not in Pennsylvania. A money progressive, I am also disappointed how things are now. Want to build Bluesky? Stop posting over there!
On now, the Sunday Mass celebrated by The Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, at this link:

When the rainstorm ended earlier, we got a stunning view of Mount Fuji today at sunset. Don't think I've seen it this summer.

#TaxSky I hear that the recent tariffs are causing the price of coffee to rise in America. (I'm in Japan.) My joke elsewhere was to say that the Brazil tariff sounds like the "Tax Cups of Java Act". But apparently the joke falls flat. Like if you don't check the "best when used by" date.

I saw the discussion on Linked In. GPTZero suggests that there is some human element behind it--not just AI driven theft.

What I’m learning is that even a 40 cm tsunami wave can be 100 kilometers long. The message to move repeats in English, as you can see.

I thought Princess was going to leave her garbage out on the veranda all night, but boyfriend must have shown and deposited it where it belongs.

Impressed with the front of this vape shop I saw in Honolulu when I was there in June.

Day 2 of HAPA convention. In Honolulu, I passed that hotel where you see Hawaii 5-O’s McGarrett turn to the camera on the roof. The workers at that hotel are on strike. Ask management to bargain in good faith! #TaxSky #TaxBS

During the day here in Waikiki, we listened to the lecture of Bob Jennings, CPA, of Jeffersonville Indiana, known and beloved to many CPAs throughout the 50 states. I am eight continuing education credits ahead of where I was this morning.

Off to Hawai’i continuing professional education Day One early this morning. (Up at 3am.) #TaxSky #TaxBS

In Hawai’i, around noon around this time of year, the sun casts virtually no shadow. They go straight down.

No lie. I got the Jimmy Dore VIP ticket shot in September 2019 at Magooby's (2025 shot). With me and the Dores is political commentator Tim Black www.politicon.com/speaker/tim-... , who was in Jimmy's circle of sidekicks at the time.

Me hanging out with Jimmy Dore and his Missus at his comedy show in Maryland in March (my escape during tax season.). Jimmy’s comedy has shifted a bit versus pre-pandemic, but I laughed just as hard as when I saw him at the same venue in 2019.

This picture is one I took in April 2024 at Daniel K. Inouye. I'm 60 now, but I still get excited about getting on the plane decorated like a sea turtle! On occasion, I see them land in the distance from Narita Town.

Out of curiosity, I identified the Imperial Palace and the SkyTree. In the last couple years with business taking me back to America, this is mostly how I've seen Tokyo.

Every June, I try to snap a few kudzu shoots that attack the hydrangeas along Nishiguchi Avenue by the sports park going into Narita New Town. The vines just wrap right around the blooms trying to choke them off. As the years pass, the kudzu is winning.

Here at Narita Japan’s Wellstone Hills, today’s mini concert out the balcony next door starts with Gracie Abrams’ “us”. Ms. Fujii (a/k/a Princess Migi-can) is once again “cleaning”. Song catch courtesy Shazam from my own room that I just paid the rent on June 1.

Narita Nuttiness, early June #2. This morning next door, Ms. Fujii, Princess Migi-chan begins the outdoor concert with Ariana Grande's "Popular" from the movie Wicked.

And it isn't the Ishii family's fault. I thought the landlord was some sleazy money grubber. It turns out they are actual neighbors. It's Starts! Look at that stock price--up up up! They just aren't putting enough resources into managing apartments, at least this one.

I wondered what kind of landlord allows continued nuisance like that after an identification has been made, but now I'm convinced this is purely the fault of Japan's Starts--known by me as Farts (おなら in Japanese). The actual landlord is the son of the family that lives in that house.

Readers following my thread know that I have a nuisance neighbor here in Narita, Japan. Today's miniconcert at the Wellstone Hills featured Yorushika's "Left Right Confusion". It was actually the second straight day of concerts--yesterday featured Goose house's "Hikarunara".
