Over on X, there are people that I follow that I used to see and interact with regularly and I haven't seen any of their posts in ages. I might see a handful of familiar names in a sea of posts from accounts that I would never follow. It's become a waste of time.

I just keep a small bit of freezer space free for anything new that I buy. There isn't much that doesn't have it's own insect pest so I do everything just in case.

A week is enough. I don't leave anything in more than a week and because it's vac sealed, it won't get re-infested once it's out.

You really need to do it with peas, beans, rice and lentils too - they seem to attract pantry moths rather than mites. You see these tiny little flies, about the same size of fruit flies, maybe a bit smaller in containers that haven't been frozen so freezing hits the eggs and larvae.

This is how I do it - I freeze for a week and then vacuum pack in amounts that just fill my clip top jars. I have a clip top jar of each on the go wash it when it's empty and then refill. The alternative and more expensive way is mylar bags and oxygen absorbers - creepies can't live without oxygen.

Yup, by the time I've done with a piece of clothing, it's been worn beyond being donated to the charity shop and the zips and buttons have been scavenged before it gets cut up into cleaning cloths. It's beyond my grandmother, I've become my great-gran !

Hi Trudy 🖐️ I'd forgotten about holding the wool for my gran. I don't remember her knitting but she must have done it when I wasn't around. I vaguely remember her teaching me to make a sort of corded thing with yard using a cotton reel with four small nails stuck into it.

I bought a hardback journal type notebook and I add bits like this into it for my grand-daughter. She's only five now but the way things are going, she'll need things like this when she's older. I won't be able to teach her because she's in Australia so a book it will have to be.

It's a cheap way of getting wool. If you make up the wool into hanks and then soak the hanks in cold water with fabric conditioner, all the kinks from the previous knitting come out. When I've done it before, I rolled the soaked hanks in a towel and pressed out the water then hanged them to air dry.

I only know what I've watched on YouTube but I'll give anything a go. Nothing will happen until summer when shearing starts but meantime, I might hit the charity shops and see if there are any wool jumpers that I can pick apart for the yarn to knit up over winter into something I like.

I really should have a go - the carder has been sitting there making me feel guilty for too long and it's a waste when they cost a few hundred pounds. I haven't knitted for years because the price of wool is so expensive even though the farmers can can't get the cost of shearing for a fleece.

I've had to get my cooking and craft fixes over on YouTube - I'm trying to figure out where I can make the space to use a drum carder that I was given ages ago and how practical it would be to start processing fleeces in a flat 😂 If I were sensible, I'd stick to cooking but ............

I think I'll leave it until tomorrow before I start this marathon and you're right - I'm not seeing friends and so most of my engagement is with the environmental and political stuff which is starting to get more than a bit draining. The negativity is spilling over into my off-line life.

I'm thinking initially about finding people who are already over here - some of them must have made the move already so I'll try to get them ticked off the list first before thinking about passing on codes. I feel quite humbled that I've made it into your top four ❤️
