Yeah as baffling as most of their decisions are Microsoft nailed suspending and resuming a long time ago. I keep losing progress on other platforms because I'm so used to being able to jump back and forth between games without any manual saving.

My older step sister started teaching when I was in high school but I never really thought about how weird it was that she was teaching people my age because she was still living like a uni student. It still doesn't quite register that I was partying with people the same age as a lot of my teachers.

That's the best part, you can modify your dead grandparent. Maybe cut the racism. Make them nicer. Wiser. De-age them. Add some rocking tits. Dead grandad can be anything with the power of AI!

Is upgrading to a Lascannon worth the extra points? Why of course, I should have realised I can just take whatever I like and have fun. How stupid of me to ask.

I get similar results with gaming stuff. There's always someone waiting to jump in and point out that games are for fun like it's some deep revelation. I'm sure the OP was relieved to find out that the answer to the question was to not give a fuck.

Even English to English doesn't translate directly. Mad Max's kid is called Sprog. A literal translation would change that to Cum which makes Max and his wife seem like psychos. It doesn't convey that in Australia back then it was a common low class but affectionate way to reference your baby.

I'll jump through hoops to get money to the people actually responsible but life is too short to waste on shit that only benefits the worst types of middlemen.

Maybe it's just a personal thing but I'll make an exception when the vendor is obnoxious. If I have to make an account for a one off transaction, get pressured to hand over details for spam/data collection purposes, or get pitched some variation on insurance/extended warranty I'm not buying.

I assume the void will collapse in on itself as a thousand well funded unelectable morons sabotage each other over who gets to be the next Trump, but I'm still a little worried because last time Republicans had nothing to work with we got MAGA.
November 22, 2025 at 3:39 AM
Yeah but it's important to remember he didn't get there on charisma. Everything Trump did pre-MAGA proves he was uncharismatic. He spent a fortune over decades trying to be a celebrity millionaire and his one success was getting given 'you're fired' as a catchphrase.

Essentially it's Richard Ayoade as Dean interviewing Matt Holness as a new character each episode. It doesn't sound like anything special but Ayoade is fantastic at sleaze and Holness' range and the specifics he works in are great.

I feel like I'm always bringing it up but a lot of people don't realise they followed this up with Man to Man with Dean Learner, a late night talk show hosted by Dean from Darkplace.
It's not exactly Darkplace but it's worth it for Randolph Caer's Bitch Killer.

I'd say they're playing the long game but not in a way where they see the ripple effect caused by their actions. As this unfolds they will take advantage of it in a way that makes it seem like they masterminded it, when really they did something and when the consequences hit they saw an opportunity.

They say a good movie monster needs to keep some mystery to it but the werewolf doesn't care about any of that. Sucks to be one. Sucks to be attacked by one. Seeing it only confirms it's bad news for everybody involved.

One side effect of putting all these fringe weirdos into power is that they legitimately don't understand politics. They're blowing up decades of complex manoeuvring that put you guys on top of the world to run baby brained extortion scams because they think US dominance just happened.

The worst scene in horror is the obligatory 'and all our phones were in there' scene. I'm willing to suspend my disbelief if nobody brings up the topic but if the movie brings it up I start thinking about it and there's no satisfying answer.

I don't think it's lazy as much explaining it would require a significant justification, which would be central to the story in an invasive way. Suddenly it shifts from a really creepy premise to a shallow statement about the current state of news media.

Remember when Trump's platform was that it's horrible you can buy politicians time, and because he's rich he'll be the only one that can't be brought.

The line between reality and fantasy is blurring, I've become lost in the simulation. Nooooooo!

And we're going to work to lower that age and the required workload while also considering any slight raise in either to be a massive social failure, right?

The data is functionally worthless too. We've had decades of Google hoovering up every possible byte about everything and all it's done is prove it's not reliable enough to use.
Everywhere that uses that bulk data ends up poisoning itself or recognising that it's too flawed to base decisions off.

It's an interesting case. The components for a metaphor are there and laid out more or less correctly but it's clearly not intentional. It's a bit of a joke but simply by not making the transphobic jokes you'd expect it skips over being neutral and lands on positive.

I'd argue they can work. Twisting the original into a new context while having the audience begin to dread an inevitable outcome can be horrifying as long as it hooks into the original correctly.

Granted it's not going to be convincing when it's unrelated writers doing it 40 years later for Disney.
