the trailer wasn’t made by AI… the director is kenichi kutsuna who has a very distinct style. the project has been in development for a long while before all this gen AI crap. it’s unfortunate actual talent is going to be caught in the middle of this stupid company

i mean it's still technically an original in the sense that it's a totally original story with original characters that they've created, but i get it, it's still based on an ip. it's not really what i'd call an 'adaptation' tho. weird middle ground. but it still feels in trigger's m.o., like gridman

unfortunately the point/key shit us how basically all online manga services work in japan, so if more publishers wish to bring their services over they probably are gonna assume that system works in the west too (it doesn’t)
