I think we've lost a lot of sex in culture - from the
"no kink at Pride" debates to the rise of tradwife content, and the weird, complicated state of masculinity. We need Playboy now more than ever. My hope is that it reflects the current culture better.

From my perspective working in social media, I also think a lot of marketing teams and ad agencies aren’t ready for what AI will bring—whether it’s integrating AI into workflows, working with AI influencers, or navigating all the new possibilities.

That said, there are creators whose content is mostly fluff—pushing aesthetics and Amazon storefronts without much substance. Those folks should probably be a little worried, because AI can easily replicate those hyper-consumable, surface-level aesthetics.

Personally, I think AI influencers will only end up strengthening human influencers (strange sentence, but true). The complexity of human experience is something AI just can’t replicate.

And the snarky side of me also thinks a lot of very stupid people have gotten rich making crap content or shilling fast fashion. But people seem to love that, so idk.

They’ve made it so that monetization should be your goal. They’ve tweaked a lot of algorithms, and it’s changed how people consume and engage with things. They’ve prioritized rage and engagement-bait content.

There’s a lot of great things about being an influencer or content creator or whatever tf we wanna call it—flexible work hours, autonomy (arguable), passion, etc.

But it’s hard, because I think it’s really changed how people create on the internet, and I mostly blame social media platforms.
