Sainsbury's puts strong sticky tape around its fairtrade bananas. You can't break the tape with your fingers and when you tease it off it damages the skins of the fruit. Is this one of those scams whereby food packaging is designed to spoil the product deliberately to cause waste?

Here it comes. (Likely to be) the #NB.1.8.1 variant now causing an uptick in cases here in the UK. A rise of 10% to May 28th (latest government figures). Check the next set of figures to confirm a trend (and possibly the leading edge of a wave)...
