And honestly, that takes a lot of strength and thus makes sense why Lil Petey attaches quickly to Greg/Dogman because Greg is a honestly a model in not letting your trauma control and dictate your life, and not allowing others say on your identity hold you back and from living your life (18/18)

Appreciate the little things in the world, despite how horrible the world has treated him which is the complete opposite of Petey. And the reason Dogman doesn’t go down the route like Petey does in becoming an evil doer is because he always try to remember the loves he’s been shown and given (17/18)

We’ve been shown time and time again that Greg is afraid of having what little autonomy he has taken from him, which makes sense because everything is taken from him and he’s hardly ever taken seriously enough except by those he’s later considers “family.” Greg/Dogman tries his best to (16/?)

and hidden away from society because society doesn’t want to acknowledge their existence. Same as with Cat Jail. Both Dog Jail and Cat Jail represent oppressed groups of society that are treated unfairly and subjugated for not “fitting” or “following” the status quo. (15/?)

He’s threatened constantly by the higher ups, people he protects, that if he continues to step out of line and not conform to their society, he’ll go to Dog Jail like all the other Dogs that don’t behave. And I view this as direct allegory of how disabled people are constantly thrown in jail (14/?)

Despite Greg’s achievements and new role, he’s still looked down upon by others and harassed because he still doesn’t fit in enough. Someone like Greg isn’t supposed to be successful. He’s supposed to remain in his place and conform to what society tells him he is, which is a “pet.” (13/?)

their healthy tissues and organs to those that they know are need of them, especially when they know their time may be up son. Anyways, Greg has a new body and is now more abled. However, he’s still a dog and continues to display dog like behavior which is not okay based on others reactions (12/?)

his death when first introduced and tells Greg his wishes for the case of his future death. I feel as if Knight’s approval of Greg having his body is recognizing not only is Greg a better cop than him but an allegory of organ donation, and how some people donate (11/?)

doing things he couldn’t in the past as simply being ol’ regular Greg. He’s given a new body to better conform and fit in with society. A body which belonged to his partner, best friend, and owner - Knight. I can’t help but think that Knight suffered from depression as he alludes to (10/?)

Knowing he’s able to communicate and they can understand him. Greg’s autonomy is stripped from him and his identity is stripped of him, and he’s given the new identity “Dogman.” Let’s talk about how it’s stated how great this is for Greg as he’s now more efficient, better, and capable of (9/?)

the infamous Hospital scene. Essentially Officer Knight is about to die bc he’s declared “Brain dead” by the nurses, and Greg, while alive, is completely immobile. The nurses and Knight all consent to keeping Greg alive and forcing him to go through surgery w/o asking him how he feels (8/?)

Except for Officer Knight and Petey the Cat. These are the only two were shown that directly talk with Greg and respond to his “barks” which is basically dog language. Cue Greg figuring out how to defuse bomb, Officer Knight and Greg get blown up by Petey’s invention, and then we get (7/?)

those with disabilies. Anyways, back to Greg, we meet Greg as a full grown dog and were told that Greg is actually super intelligent and way smarter than Officer Knight. However, despite awareness of his intelligence, no one speaks or treats Greg with respect or acknowledges what he says (6/?)

Remember Petey tried selling Lil Petey off as a pet instead of simply taking him to a shelter or orphanage like he was placed at as a kid, which is interesting. I view this as an allegory of people with disabilities being abandoned bc they’re deemed not worth “keeping” or need to “control” (5/?)

Officer Knight. This makes me wonder what happened to Greg’s family is what happened to Big Jim parents, and while Jim was taken in, Greg was abandoned and therefore declared a “pet” and adopted by Officer Knight. Like animals citizens that aren’t considered wards of state are thus sold off (4/?)
March 12, 2025 at 5:37 AM
We find out in Big Jim that Greg the Dog actually used to not always be a pet and was apart of the Jr. Detective Club and was friends with a Young Chief, as a young puppy. As a puppy his dream occupation was being a Police Dog, which he later achieves in life when he’s later in the hands of (3/?)

Like let’s talk about the world of Dogman, where both Cats and Dogs are anthropomorphic but bc Dogs are seen as less “intelligent” they are automatically declared pets. While cats can be pets, but they have a bit more privilege. Some dogs are seen as citizens automatically but it’s rare. (2/?)
