I really enjoyed Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, but it nothing compared to these two awesome bastards. #moviesky #filmskya #frankenstein

Just before the boulder, we had a wonderful picnic on a field nearby.

Found a “supporting stone” in the Flemingsberg forest - a huge boulder seemingly propped up with hundreds of sticks.

A kind of Swedish votive cairn, where visitors add a branch for luck or safe passage.

A strange little shrine in the woods.

Sign of the forest fires from this summer, and ice on the ground.

Massive walk today, 14 kilometers at the Flemingsberg Forest Nature Reserve. First time there, and we need to get back during late spring or in the summer.

Back in the days when they printed real news! In Jämtlandsposten, Wednesday 31 May 1916, the entire hedgehog drama of Multrå is reported in full! 😁 (translation in alt text).

This is a very, very good - close to perfect - triple feature I recently watched for an upcoming podcast. They also fits oddly fitting together like this, looking at the dramaturgy. Hopefully I’ll expand on this in the podcast! #moviesky #filmskya #highstrangeness #ufosky

This morning’s mystery pick: the Soviet-era Estonian mind-bender “Dead Mountaineer’s Hotel”, based on a story by the Strugatsky brothers.

One of those films where the less you know going in, the better it gets - just check in, press play and let it quietly scramble your brain.

Tonight’s double feature: The Thing from Another World + Arrival.
From “let’s thaw out this alien, what could possibly go wrong?” to “maybe try talking to the space squid first.” Two sci-fi classics, 65 years apart, both perfect in their own weird ways.
A very good night. 🛸🔥

Worked on my book today, sitting in my friend’s book store. A very lovely place to edit yet another chapter.

Pillion is, without a doubt, this year’s best film. Brilliant acting all around, and it’s funny and touching - dark, bright, and full of grey areas. I’m happy they didn’t try to “cuteify” the relationship between Ray and Colin. It’s just one of those great, totally woke love stories. #moviesky

Darn, Ed Wood just gets better and better. It’s such a fitting tribute to Edward D. Wood Jr. and his whole gang of wonderful weirdos. Watching it again even reminded me that I own a signed script by Vampira and Conrad Brooks. #moviesky #filmskya

One of my top comfort movies, Eduardo Sánchez’s Altered (2006). Great take on the alien abduction concept. #moviesky #filmskya

In today’s episode of Kalla Kårar this old fart shows up on camera and talks about one of his favourite topics! 😁 You can already watch it now on TV4 Play, or wait until 21:00 tonight when it airs live.

Delightful and bloody black comedy, which kinda felt like Jurassic Park but with unicorns. #moviesky #filmskya

I’ve been blocked from writing on a certain book project for ages, but I recently discovered that if I just record myself freestyling and then run an automatic transcription, the whole thing becomes much easier. I feel a bit like Barbara Cartland dictating her novels from a chaise longue.
