I have over the last couple of years slowly lost my ability to tell actual news from satire when it comes to the US. And I don't think this is on me.

I mean there's a bunch of folk tales where ordinary people best the devil / a deamon / the fae. But as far as I recall most of them involve being particularly clever / outsmarting them / finding a loophole and rarely just outright being better at some skill.
