Never forget. Allende was overthrown on September 11, 1973, leading to years of horror imposed on Chile by Pinochet in the interest of Western states and corporations.

Chile became a violent neoliberal experiment led by US-educated liberal economists while living standards declined immensely.

Happy birthday to gay pioneer Edward Carpenter, born today in 1844.

Edward dedicated his life to homosexual liberation, worker's rights, women's emancipation, anti-colonialism, nudism, sodomy, and sandals, and argued gay comrades would form the vanguard of a sexually liberated socialist society.
