Many philosophers in history were just doing things, rather than working within a structured academic environment.

Many of them wrote letters, pamphlets, speeches, op-eds, or simply attended salons and cafés. Their cultural impact was organic, outside formal publishing pathways.

I've been exploring this new vibe: "you can just do things".

I can just develop my thinking and publish it as I see fit. I'm not accountable to anyone except for my rational conscience.

If it's good, people will pick up on it, even if only amateurs. If it's bad, I've done my best and had fun.

These innovations far exceeded what was imaginable in the 19th century. Likewise, we can anticipate that future science will make us seem clueless.

This should not make us radical skeptics. The best any generation can do is to see things within their current paradigms. There is no higher viewpoint.

Our conscious states would be mere components of our whole selves, each experiencing a part of our entire lives, which in turn exists as a static 4D entity in spacetime

Would *we* experience the future? Our present conscious states wouldn't, but we would

Weird that we'd be static entities, though

Conscious states are ephemeral, while brains are much more long-lived. Yet, under eternalism, both would be stuck in time

A view on this is called 4-dimensionalism: that some objects should be seen as 4D entities harboring past and future componentes

We are an organism and its complete history
