I used to have a bad intolerance but have been weening myself on to it in small doses over years to try and reduce the impact. Seems better when in cooked foods but fresh chillies still mess me up for days

And yes younger gays don’t understand and that’s ok as we also don’t have the full understanding of what the generations before us had to endure. Let’s hope that one day it won’t be an issue for anyone x

Absolutely I remember in one of the places we lived there were rumours about a gay guy that lived in an abandoned rail carriage coz he had AIDS. Obviously they were scaremongering stories told coz they thought it was appropriate, but fuck did that mess me up, was I gonna end up that way?

Same here. I guess we are of the same generation (1976 here), my family moved around quite a bit and we lived abroad so it was difficult being a young gay boy not knowing my place and not having a tribe of my own or a role model. Her influences and provocative approach to public life was everything

She was and is an icon! She changed the world, not saying she’s the only one but she contributed a lot to the world being more woke.

Turkish men walk around locked in arms. It’s an old tradition to them it’s not a gay thing it’s just how things have always been. I’m surprised you haven’t seen it, hope they haven’t stopped that as that was so good to see walking around Taksim square and down that big street from there.
