The way the sun sets behind the Rocky Mountains is one of the best things about living in Alberta.

I hope all my CDN friends enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend as much as Willow enjoyed hers.

A lovely view. Anthurium sp cirinoi black, in the back row, is especially fantastic right now.

The garden season was pretty much a write-off, but I did get one large tomato, and while it looked a bit rough outside, it was perfectly sweet inside. It was good enough for a sandwich on fresh baked sourdough, so I guess growing it was worth it.

It's been driving me crazy. Marco Rubio seemed so familiar, and I couldn't figure out why. And then it hit me. He's had some work done on the ears but they're still ginormous.

I sowed a number of poppy seeds in late winter and only 1 has grown. It bloomed today so I ran out between thunderstorms to snap a photo. Gardening is a reminder to appreciate tiny moments of beauty when they arrive because life is ephemeral. #yyc #yycgardens

Made 14 jars of blueberry lime jam today. This is your reminder that you don't need to grow it yourself to preserve it. Cost per jar is around $2.75. Pretty sweet.

Today's thrift store treasure. A Beatles milk glass coffee mug made by Federal glass. Paid $2, value around $45. My kid will use it to store guitar picks. Pretty neato.

If we're lucky, there will be lightning. This is about 40 min drive from their location.

Trump is getting the welcome he deserves. Maybe there'll be some lightning, and we'll all get lucky. #G7

The haskaps have produced well this year, but a pair of twin Robin fledglings are using them for breakfast and shelter, and I haven't had the heart to pick any for myself! Sweet babies. We are the only yard without dogs so I'm happy to have them here to be safe.

Also scored this 60s Johhny Walker water jug while thrifting. It's in awesome condition and worth $50+ I paid $4.50.
