I was off all last week dealing with a family medical emergency but LOOK HOW CLOSE OUR TEAM GOT TO FULLY SAVING RIPTA in the Senate on Fri. Massive thanks to @samzurier.bsky.social and everyone who voted yes to reallocate more RIDOT funding to RIPTA. Now, we wait to hear about job and service cuts 😩

Here's Peter Alviti - the Board Chair of RIPTA and Director of RIDOT - opposing bills to fund RIPTA (he would lose $7 million) and maintain sidewalks on state roads (he would have to reallocate $35 million). Yesterday, RIDOT dropped their 10-year capital budget. It's $10 BILLION DOLLARS.

The more time goes on & the more it develops into the most vibrant public space in pvd, the more I feel like "195 District Park" is a terrible name. How bout Providence River Park? Divine Providence Park? It's SO RAD that it sits on top of the old interstate but why feature the highway in the name?

We brought community organizers together with local musicians and made joy, connection, and commitment to keep fighting for our most vulnerable community members. And raised more than $1000 for the RI Food Bank!
