It's like all the people that unironically quote the "Greed is Good" thing from Wall Street or admire Alec Baldwin's speech in Glengarry Glen Ross.

"Suicidal empathy" is the new buzz phrase of the unpleasants.

Around 2016 or so. Though, to be fair, there's a difference with licensing a game to a percieved abrasive yet accomplished game developer 9 years ago (when the attention to your little free game is actually exciting) and a Trump supporting right wing nasty person he evidently is now.

I think it's part of how his other two games draw from Super Mario Bros. and Myst/Riven respectively. Kind of like what Quentin Tarantino does - like Django Unchained coming off from the Django series of films etc.

Or, more depressingly, - choose not to engage in media you don't think will ever be completed to save your poor 11 year old inner self's heart from sadness.

(Oh, Oddworld....)

You gotta have a good purge every now and then. I recently threw out 99% of the tupperware and spice rack I'd accumulated over the last 6 years. Merciless.

What's the best way to play Yakuza/Like a Dragon? Release Order or Chronological Order?

Nedry's death in the book is pretty horrifying. Always stuck with me.

That and all the SPAS Shotgun Raptor action like they're in the Arcades above a Bowling Alley.

It's basically a comedy/drama. More emphasis on comedy in the esrly show. But I think people sort of forget how it sort of laughs at its own characters constantly - almost with contempt it feels like.

Is there a proper list of the most played videogames worldwide? I've always been interested in perception versus reality.

Yellow Paint is just so effective but I think it's fine is players are getting a bit tired of seeing it. I actually appreciated the fact that Silent Hill 2 adopted the "white rags" technique. Presumably a lot less effective but it felt more fitting.

I think it's that the pro-Clive/pro-FF voices have more enthusiastic energy than the Clive haters have negative energy this time around. After the initial negative shock wore off I think they've skipped from Anger to Bregrudging Acceptance.

We've been imprisoned by the American Courtroom dramas the US exports to our lands and Anatomy of a Fall is here to liberate us.

But DLCs are often a sort of response that's in a conversation with the main game and both the dev's and the audience's relationship with it. So they're kind of interesting in that respect also.

My only issue with DLCs os sometimes they present interesting ideas that I feel could've served better as being woven into the Main Campaign while playing it. Which I'm sure they would've if they had the time, extra money and those ideas at that time.

I always saw this as a symptom of Open World games rather than specifically RPG games. Rockstar's Open World games have always had this issue, too. And even mid-sized games like Batman Arkham City struggle with this dissonance a bit.

And as Survivors your success often hinged upon your teammates failures. While Jason is distracted killing others you could make your escape. And Jason was so OP even the best Survivor with godlike evasion and stacked with Pocket Knives could still be caught out.
November 22, 2024 at 11:18 PM
And the game within a game was whenever Survivors tried to team up and pull off the convoluted steps to kill Jason instead of escape. But it was still never optimal because Jason could tear the plan apart with one good kill.

I always enjoyed Friday the 13th because the game was so janky and unbalanced that the game didn't become centered around optimal strategies. There was no real "high level" gameplay. Some people were very good at it but you still got to use all the tools in your toolbox to win

I guess there just wasn't too much financial incentive for devs to abandon the PS4 generation this time around so less devs were trying to push the envelope with the PS5 and its SSD etc.
November 18, 2024 at 2:37 PM
It's gonna be similar to the PS4 Pro. Games towards the end of the generation will have a boost. And some older/cross gen games will run better. But it's not gonna be crazy different (except like FF7).

You can play the Resi 4 remake at about 80fps-100fps on the Pro for example.

You should look at some Tekken music. A lot of electronic music. Some weird stuff and experimental stuff. Not sure if you're cup of tea but there's some memorable tracks over 30 years.
