The catch to all of this is that a user has to opt into these community run labels. And if the average user doesn't do that, then whatever misinformation isn't filtered out by BlueSky may be put in front of them anyways.

I think the strongest benefit of this system will be its modularity. So that down the line, when new research comes out about detecting and countering misinformation, it could be implemented through this labeling system.

So whether this platform, Ozone, that BlueSky provides (which seems pretty nice but I'm yet to mess around with) is up to the challenge if BlueSky ever gets to the scale of Twitter or something remains to be seen.

Depending on how the moderation systems are adopted by the community, this could prove to be an effective mass method of moderation or a complete flop. All this ofc would be on top of the moderation BlueSky themselves are already doing.
