In Canada we have automatic review of constituency boundaries every 10 years. The decisions are made by non-partisan commissions according to principles of representation and fairness re number of voters per riding. Public hearings allow folks to weigh in before final lines are drawn. Good system.

The right-wing backers also want to undermine the CFIA's authority. They have also supported other libertarian efforts to weaken food safety regulations. They use small farmers to get sympathy but deregulation puts big corporations in charge, lowers their costs, increases exploitation.
