The credibility of economic statistics is important not just for economists but for anyone trying to make informed economic decisions. If you think giving the White House the ability to put political pressure on the BLS is a bad idea (I do), please write explaining why! See below.
The administration is moving the rule. Official public (that's us!!) comment period is open.

Today we laid to rest my grandpa Bill, a very loving and funny old guy. He was a quite hobbit-like person: humble, generous, most content at home with a good book and a cigar, and mischievously silly. My aunt once asked him: what was the one question he would ask God? He said:

"Is everything okay?"
