These are also really excellent for any party member and are guaranteed drops each time you fight Gilbert in the arena.

This is on by default. It lowers enemy stats every time you hit retry (just for that single fight).

Hard Mode is a different new set of fights. It's basically part 2 of the door. You will want to do that.
Also the Fool's Emblem was a drop from Gilbert and not a reward for first time clear so you can actually go back and get more if you want (they're REALLY good).

These two in particular. I think for the first one you need to have run away from 0 battles for the whole game and also fought at least 300.
I was kicking myself for going for this on Nightmare while also going into the Ravens door without saving prior.
