Today, my Deaf criminology learner came in to teach the year group below her some basic BSL. We co-taught, which was a great experience and excellent practice for me. Everyone got involved and so many were inspired. #deafawareness #deafawarenessweek

Awful news. Maria was a student in my dance class many years ago, I prepped her for the @salforduni.bsky.social cross uni sports competitions where, naturally, Maria was a fantastic competitor. Such a lovely young woman.

I really need my feed to be filled with researchers, people surrounding the UK prison, education and policing fields and other related topics. Because it’s still full of people from “across the pond” and I moved away from the other platform to get away from that.

Today marks the start of LGBT+ History Month. 🏳️‍🌈

Later this month, I look forward to welcoming members of the parliamentary community, charities, organisations and special guests to Speaker’s House to come together in marking the occasion.

Completely disgusted with all of the reports about Meta removing anything related to marginalised groups and limiting advertising of businesses related to the same. I am looking forward to their excuse on the u-turn they will have to take if they want to keep their businesses.

A little bit of what I saw this week during the Parliament Teacher Ambassador Programme.
It was a joy to meet with teachers of the UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador Programme for a Q&A. Using resources and knowledge provided by the programme, it gives teachers the opportunity to inspire the next generation and deliver engaging workshops about the work of Parliament.

Grim conditions highlighted in today's @hmiprisonsnews.bsky.social reports.

Manchester had a rodent infestation, while at Long Lartin, a continued lack of in-cell toilets led prisoners to use buckets in their cells and throw bags of excrement out of the windows.

I promise I am switching to this app now! It takes so much to build up profiles again and again. But sitting with a city view of London for a few days while doing it isn’t a bad thing.

I actually find it primitive that companies still test on animals. The toothpastes work, the creams work, natural oils work as perfumes- so what is the need?
