We feel as safe as I think is possible in the US now that we moved to California. I think California has the economic strength and a strong governor to protect citizens better than any other state. We are also contemplating Canada as my husband and kids are dual citizens.

So scary. I lived through the East Bay fire in 1991. It was my last semester at UC Berkeley. Just got out with my car and the clothes I was wearing. So sad to see this in LA.
