I had a tax issue with the State of California a couple years ago that is too complex to describe, but it was a long saga. But I finally got a person on the phone who reviewed all of my materials and had the appropriate power to just close my case outright, and she was like my best friend.

I had the same reaction (and he's also my rep). I don't think he has any shot next year regardless though.

It would be my worst nightmare. Replacement pickings for BYU are slim, and I don't think there's the football equivalent of Kevin Young out there anywhere.

Just noting that this has been confirmed to not be him (someone looked at public property records for the address and there was a mortgage etc under that name, so clearly a different Tyler Robinson given his age).

I also don't see how they could think that makes for better representation of the people (the answer is probably that they don't actually think that, and this explanation is just the fake excuse).

Actually, I take back the South here. Looking at a map and Panama City of actually farther south than Cartagena. To be even more exact, Taboga Island is my farthest south.

I live in this district, and Evans barely won. It's a new district from the 2020 census that's extremely competitive. The D candidate won narrowly in 2022, and in 2024 lost narrowly to Evans. I don't see it swinging further R in 2026 with the current state of things, so I think Evans is in trouble.

Kyle Clark has been a fixture here for decades now. Also I live in that district (which was new in 2022, when the D candidate won). It's extremely competitive and Evans barely won. I think it's highly likely he loses in 2026.

I literally just posted about this in your newsletter comments. Definitely obvious in terms of the recall, but also scary to think of potential long term effects on entire generations.

He was interrupted at the second location and fled on foot after some exchange of gunfire with police. That's why his car was left behind. They had decided to go check that lawmaker's house after the reports from the first one.

My dad bought a humane trap years ago to use in the backyard over his vendetta against rabbits. He's only ever caught squirrels and one raccoon, zero rabbits.

I just hit my farthest south (and a new continent!) a couple weeks ago, Cartagena, Colombia. Also got Central America (Panama) but of course that's not a new continent.

My (Republican) rep is having a phone townhall and I assume it's a way to prevent it being obvious from cheers/boos how people feel. This is a very competitive district he barely won, too (CO-08).
