I also caught a preview of Unicorn and thoroughly enjoyed most of it! Is an off-duty critic less discerning? Esp if they see a show before the discourse starts? I think it’s natural to will yourself to be entertained if you’ve spent money on a ticket and aren’t required to give a formal opinion

Sometimes you want challenging, thought-provoking drama, and sometimes you want the nostalgic embrace of a musical you’ve known all the words to since childhood - but have never seen live!

Just saw A Real Pain and it’s really really good - only 90 minutes, and each of those minutes is excellent (imho).
