I’ve known the story of Laika for years. I had to know how this middle grade book tackled the harsh realities of the space race. I gave this book a hug for about ten minutes after I finished it. ❤️

I started with Thirteen Reasons Why, because it’s a book that resonated with me when it was originally published (and when I was an angsty teen going through life). And I really want to analyze how it was really challenged after the premiere of the Netflix show almost 20 years later.

I have a journal that I started to use, but put it off. The American Library Association put out a copy and I think it could be a fun start for a book club!
