Scruffy Badger

Furry trash, pony fan, bike nerd, sometimes I draw things, but mostly I lurk.
Every now again I think about the guy on the SunTour catalogue and it makes my day marginally better.

Been watching a lot of movies.

Grasshopper mouse in her native habitat.

On the way home from work last night I stopped to eat at some shitty local burger chain, and as ate stale fries under the horrible florescent light, listening to the quietly desperate conversations of the other diners I thought holy fuck I'm in an Edward Hopper painting. I'm not him, but I can try.

It doesn't make any more sense with context.

I love cold weather riding. It combines nicely with my other love: riding alone. Every other sane person is safely inside and I have the world to myself. Gotta dress for it though. Last night, snug and warm in my current clothes, it make me nostalgic for when I was more of a dirtbag cyclist.

Wrapped up Spooky Month by watching Tetsuo the Iron Man. I've wanted to see it for decades now, and it was simultaneously nothing, and exactly like I expected it to be. Grainy high contrast artsy shakeycam bullshit, but with these amazing visuals that just make it *work*. So fucking good.

...Evelyn Waugh, Aubry Beardsley, Vorticism, Marlene Dietrich, and ... Kenneth Graham, who is probably to blame for me being a filthy furry to begin with, and certainly the reason Enid is a badger.

She makes me want to draw clothes better, and it infuriates me that I can't find the knack.

Which isn't to say the corsets and stockings aren't there any more. She's just become a focus for kind of things that are kind of thematically parallel. All that fin-de-siecle to roaring twenties transgressive stuff. Cristopher Isherwood, Egon Schiele, pre-code Hollywood, Mädchen in Uniform...

Using this space in an active way goes against the grain for me, but also I have these characters I draw that I'm fond of. And I want to share them. So here is Enid. She's a badger. She began life as a reason to think about corsets and stockings, and rattan canes, and slowly became much more.

Scribble scribble scribble.

Not sure where she is, or why she's dressed like this, but she's found a beer.

They've got Firth of Fifth playing so loud that the windows are rattling.

Summer seems to be winding down. Maybe. Which means cooler temperatures, which makes me think of bike trips to come, which in turn makes me remember bike trips passed. And that means it's time for bikeposting! Hurrah!

Apparently it's a twofer sort of night.

Old.

This can only end well.

Consensually crafted artistical cold pressed cider.

Older bit, drawn for a friend.

She needs to stop doing this. The fire department has already had to rescue her three times this week

I'm not sure what's going on here but I'm sure it's wholesome and will end well.

I did not mean to draw applejack. And yet it seems to have happened.

Might try and do more with this. Tentatively flagged as a work in progress. Maybe.

I happened upon someone smoking cloves the other day, and it unlocked a core memory
