Just wanna say that when I checked this book out in elementary school, the librarian warned me against it because of the heavy content. I stood my ground and it had more of an impact on me than any other Holocaust book we were required to read.

I wish Jodi Picoult would turn the main character's vampire story into a full length novel because I would read the hell out of that. It was truer to Eastern European vampire folklore than anything else I've read.
