I just finished a Winter Solstice Gathering with Kim Grant where we did some reflections, journaling, and photography. These are a few of the images I created pretty much as they came out of the camera, other than a bit of cropping. #photography #availablelightphotography

For my final submission in the #12daysofwonder I have chosen to do a set of images of the Rhododendron outside our back door taken under different conditions. It's a reminder that we don't need to go far to experience wonder, just take time to appreciate what's there in front of us and within us.

This morning I was having trouble getting motivated to do much of anything. Then I looked out the window at the bright sun on the snow and decided to pick up my camera to see if I could capture some of the wonder of the scene. #12daysofwonder

For what I believe is my 10th post in the #12daysofwonder I have chosen a few images of grass seeds. Sounds a bit mundane, I know, but it's amazing how interesting they can be when you get in close and the light is just right.

The subject of these pictures is the light and the interplay with the shadows, textures, shapes and colors. No context needed. Sometimes it's best to let our imaginations loose, engage in flights of fancy, let our minds run free and play. Don't allow the “need to know” spoil the awe and wonder.

I find that some scenes inspire wonder - as in awe - while others make me curious, and still others leave me wondering what I'm looking at.... But no matter what, I am always able to find something to wonder about or at when I pause and look around for a bit. #12daysofwonder

Sometimes it is good to pause and wonder who you are. Here are a few images showing me contemplating, reflecting, and exploring new avenues of expression. Not my best or favorite pictures, but they seemed to fit the theme of #12daysofwonder .

I was inspired by a post this morning to take another look at these images from a few days ago. They are a bit "muddy" having been taken through glass doors, but they do still show the wonder we can find if we pause to look before we rush out. #12daysofwonder #birdphotos #backyardphotography

Water can take on a magical quality when we pause to observe how it interacts with simple, everyday objects in the world around us. New growth of spring, droplets on leaves or branches, a mix of leaves under the water, or a bubble floating on the surface. #12daysofwonder #photography

I came across this quote today and I really felt it. I’ve been reminding myself of this for months, specifically in regards to sharing my words and images. This made me think how wonderful it is when we come across things that remind us who we are and what we are here for.

Day 2 of #12daysofwonder brings me to the the wonder that can be found when we look closely at the very small details of the world around us. There can be magic hidden in those small things if we just take the time to look. #photography #closeupphotography #macrophotography

Almost forgot about these mushrooms I photographed the day I was getting pinecone pictures. I nearly overlooked the little one in the first two images. It was very small. #photography #mushrooms #backyardphotography #closeupphoto

Some mushroom pictures from a couple of weeks ago. These were growing on tree stumps in the back yard. #photography #backyardphotography #mushrooms #closeupphotography

I am participating in the Winter Wellness Club which is built around mindful photography, hosted by Kim Grant. These are a few of the images I created on Tuesday as part of the first exercise. #mindfulphotography #closeupphotography #mushrooms #leaves #hartmancreekstatepark

More images from our trip to Door County. I really loved the way these purple flower pop against the yellow foliage in the background, and the pictures really captured what I was seeing. #photography #fallphotography #flowerphotos #doorcountywi

A few images of leaves caught mid-fall by the lavender which was still just barely hanging on. Something about these really appeals to me. Perhaps the holding and supporting and working together to create something beautiful.

With all the colors going on in the flower garden at the Inn, I thought it would be fun to play with some Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) to get that semi-impressionist/watercolor effect. #icm #flowerphoto #doorcountywi

Here is a set from the gardens t the White Lace Inn. These are highlighting the juxtaposition of fallen leaves and fading flowers with those few blooms still holding on. #transitions #flowerphoto #fallphotography

These are a couple of images I created this morning as part of an exercise for the Winter Wellness Club I am part of. I did a short guided meditation to help me get in touch with the environment, and then spent a few minutes taking pictures. #freshsnow #closeupphotograpy #backyardphotography

I still have a lot of images to go through from our trip to Door County! Here are a few of the closeup images I created n the gardens around the White Lace Inn where we stayed. I was surprised how many flowers were still in bloom! #closeupphotography📷 #flowerphotos #doorcountywi #whitelaceinn

Images from our trip to Door County. We stopped at Potawatomi State Park on our way to the Inn. It was breezy and cold, there were beautiful colors all around, but as often happens I found my eye drawn downward to the small details. #photography #fallcolors #closeupphotography #potawatomistatepark

Yesterday morning we woke up to our first dusting of snow for the season. I was skeptical that I'd be able to get much in the way of photos because I knew it would melt very quickly. Still, I figured it was worth a try. #photography #closeupphoto #firstsnow #backyardphotography

This is the last batch of photos from my fall color outing in late October. The light was not great, and the wind started picking up which made focusing difficult, but there were still quite a few images that made me happy. #photography #closeupphotography📷 #flowerphotography #fallphotos
