AI is all surface downward, no life from within and that reflects a misapprehension of what art is and what it can do. We are the art we make and all that implies. If you know someone who is into making art but new at it and they are relying on AI a lot…

The Academic Art community, Commercial Art community need to realign their values and techniques and approach. Critiques are a valuable tool when applied properly and not everyone should lead them. This is overly simplistic I realize.

…or artists that operate differently than the Fine Arts standard or Commercial Grade Illustration and Design standard. People fear being judged but want the sensation of creating a thing that looks “professional.” And here we are.

Why is that? Art is taught in a way that places primacy on the “critique” and that unfortunately takes the shape of ritual humiliation sessions. People learning the wrong lessons from a fucked up process has lead to a culture of illogical cruelty towards developing artists…

Why do people want this piss-filtered bullshit so bad? It’s truly hard to know but part of it comes from a swath of people being under the impression that their “lack of ability” is a detriment to creating finished work.
